Results: Junior Bear Open - Monday 3rd August 2026

Sunday 2nd August saw a healthy field of 50 players compete for the coveted Ladbrook Park Junior Bear Open. Amongst the 45 boys and 5 girls were 6 Ladbrook members, battling against other local juniors across three boys’ divisions and one girls’ division.

In Boys Division 1, home favourite Archie Williams was narrowly beaten into second place by a birdie on the 18th from Coventry’s Bobby Emmerson, whose 74 took the gross title by just one shot. Two other Ladbrook members, captain Tom Jurkowski and Logan Sutton, also put in strong rounds to finish 5th and 6th with 77 and 78 respectively.

There was further success for Coventry, with Samuel Dane’s 68 scooping the best nett prize. Logan topped the home finishers on countback, even though his nett 72 was matched by Archie.

In the 2nd Division there is just a nett prize, and this was won by Copt Heath’s Charlie Lorne, who finished with a fine six-under-par 65. Notable mentions go to homegrown talents Evan Healy, who was third with a superb 69, and Arthur Jones, who was one shot back on 70.

For the girls, it was again success for Coventry as Jessica Davies won with a gross 79. A creditable 92 for Ladbrook’s Lauren Clarke secured her 3rd place. In the nett competition, it was Grace Hemmings from Olton who came out on top.

Finally, there was a 9-hole competition for the future stars, which was won by Parker Harbon.

It was great to see so many juniors on the course, with lots of family and friends enjoying the fine weather and excellent hospitality. Congratulations to all who took part. A summary of the prize winners is below:
