Information about the course
Our course, as the name Ladbrook Park suggests, is classified as Parkland, and has a brook meandering through its 144 acres. This brook comes into play on at least 11 of the 18 holes. Our ponds will occasionally entice the golfer to forfeit a penalty shot, but the more cautious will happily respect and resist the temptation of flirting with potential danger. Our Course
Ladbrook starts with a short par five, a hole where carrying the stream in the landing area gives longer hitters a bit of chance at a two putt birdie. In the next five holes, you will find three classic Colt par fours of varying length, our 'Fish Pond' par three and the short but tight 4th.
The 7th is one of two finishing par fives on the front nine. Accuracy will be rewarded, as will your tee shot to the par three 8th, whilst avoiding the pit on the 9th and you could easily remedy any bogeys from earlier on.
Gently climb the hill on the 10th, then need your best pitch approach to the very short 11th. The 12th is a superb par three where missing left isn't good and the next two medium length par fours can give up birdies and bogies in equal measure.
Our finish rewards good straight hitting. A three at the 15th and a four at the 16th are good pars, then placing a drive at the 17th will once again ask you to play a great wedge for a birdie chance. The 18th is tight and as with all Colt courses, it will be a par you will take to win more often than lose a match.
All of the Ladbrook Team are conscious that the priority lies with a challenging, well maintained golf course to satisfy members and visitors alike. With the amazing developments in recent years, we all recognize the good endeavours of the greenkeeping team, and their commitment to bring even more improvements in the future.
In the past 3 years alone, we have built 8 new elevated tees, the most spectacular one being the 10th tee, being surrounded on 3 sides by water.
