Andy Jones makes his mark on Jamega Tour A Top Ten finish for Andy at the Warwickshire this week could be the start of good times. But what persuaded him to believe a future as a professional was awaiting him? The Scratch Matchplay Final of 2006 saw Andy shoot a gross 61 against Tim Davis. This was part of a tremendous treble for Andy, winning the Club Championship and the Men's Open, and evidence enough that an attempt on the professional ranks was a realistic goal. Prior to that, in 1999, Andy counts that as his most successful year, having won the Club Championship, Scratch Matchplay and Hartley Vase. 2007 saw the beginning of a quest to succeed amongst his fellow professionals, qualifying for the Europro Tour in April 2007. In July 2007 Andy led his first Europro Tour Event after two rounds, eventually finishing in 8th spot. Come the end of the year, a very creditable 81st on the Order of Merit was achieved.2008 playing schedules include the Europro and Jamega Tour, ending in September with the European Tour Qualifying. Steve and Pauline have given their full support, alongside sponsorship packages by many of Ladbrook Park's members. Andy represents Ladbrook Park wherever he goes and would welcome any offers of support.
